Surprise!!

This year, Jason and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. We were strapped for time with the Holidays, so we took a quick trip into Chicago for dinner and hotel stay. We had planned to take a big trip in the summer when we had some more time. Well, those plans changed! We found out on the actual day of our anniversary, December 15th, that we are expecting again! It was completely unexpected, but we are getting excited for the new addition. I am due in August, so hopefully the summer won't be the hottest and most humid on record! We told the boys on the day before Christmas Eve by giving them "Most Awesome Big Brother" shirts. At first they didn't get it. We asked them why they both would be getting big brother shirts and they decided it was because Carson is a big brother to his stuffed animals. We asked them what would be another reason. It took awhile, but finally Aidan said....You're pregnant?! They are both excited and are hoping for a little sister. We asked them why a little sister and they both answered, "we already have a brother". Very logical. I can't argue with that! Carson has decided to call the baby Shrek for now. So we'll see if the nickname sticks when it is born!

On Christmas Eve, we had both boys wear their new shirts to see who would notice first. It took a while, but eventually, we shared our news with Jason's family. We told Heidi's family via Skype earlier in the day.

So far I have been feeling pretty good, just really tired. So hopefully as the first trimester passes, that will pass and I can get a little energy back to get through tax season.

Merry Christmas!!

Merry Christmas 2011! The boys waited patiently upstairs for the go ahead to race down and see what Santa brought them on Christmas morning. This year's matching pajamas were Phineas and Ferb themed. This is one of their favorite shows right now and the boys met the characters at Disney World this past summer.

This year, Carson asked for Toy Story stuff and a dancing stuffed animal. Santa brought him a new Buzz Lightyear pillow and toy story bath toys because Santa thought he already had one of everything else! He has loved Toy Story for over 3 years now and has accumulated a large collection, including a Toy Story themed bedroom.

Carson got a new drum set from mom and dad. He loves anything musical so we thought he would love this.

We also got the boys the Kinect sensor for the Xbox. They love the Kinectimals game.

Carson also got a new guitar. He loves jamming away! I love the way he puts his knee up a little when he plays.

Aidan asked for Legos, Star Wars stuff and books. He got a new Yoda bobblehead.

Aidan also got a box of comic books. He has really enjoyed the superhero movies this past year and really has loved the comics.

Aidan loves Hockey, especially the Ice Hogs. He got a new jersey and was so excited and surprised.

Aidan and Carson jamming on the new drums and guitar.

All of the grandchildren at Great Grandma's house at Christmas day.

Both boys also got legos, DVDs and some other toys. This mama would have thought twice about these gifts had she known we would be having another baby this year! Guess this baby will just have to get used to the noise!

Happy Holidays!

So far this Winter, we have only had one snow, so when we woke up on a Saturday morning with a little snow on the ground, we headed to Williams Tree Farm for a perfect Winter outing. The boys got to see Santa and tell him what they would like this year. Aidan has requested Lego City Police and Fire. Carson has requested Toy Story toys (again) this year. It was a little chilly, but the scenery was beautiful!
Aidan liked Bernard the Reindeer.

They also had a camel.

Aidan got some food to feed the goat.

The goat climbed up to wait for the bucket of food.

The boys inside by the fire.

The boys can't wait for Christmas this year. We are still hoping to have some more snow for Christmas day but the weather forecast doesn't look good.

Happy 5th Birthday Carson!!

Happy 5th Birthday Carson!! This year he had a Phineas and Ferb themed birthday party. Of course he had to have the appropriate shirt to wear to his party!
Carson got a new Leap pad for his birthday. He loves to play it. He calls it the kids ipad.

Carson's cake with Perry the Platypus.

I can't believe Carson is already 5! Time has flown. He will start Kindergarten next year already and will be a big boy just like his big brother Aidan.

October

October was another great month with great weather. We headed out to Edward's Apple Orchard a few more times to get apple cider donuts and pumpkins.

Aidan's class did the play Frog and Toad for the parents. Aidan was Frog.

Aidan and Jason down by the ice at the Ice Hogs game. Aidan has really gotten into hockey this year. The local AHL team has adopted Jason's school and several of the players have come to visit and read with the kids.

Jason got to drop the first puck at the Ice Hogs game.

Happy Halloween 2011!!

This year for Halloween, Aidan was a Storm Trooper from Star Wars and Carson was Wolverine from X-Men. We went to Carson's Pre-K school for their Fall Festival. Each classroom had a different activity for the kids. The favorite room every year is the donut room! Both boys loved trying to get the donut without using hands.

Playing in the gooey noodles in Carson's classroom.

Aidan in the Halloween parade at his school.

Aidan is ready to trick or treat. I think he put on an entire container of glow sticks on between necklaces and bracelets!

Trick or Treating

Carson loved getting full sized candy bars from the firemen! They parked the fire truck in our neighborhood and the kids were able to trick or treat with them.

Carson definitely knew what to do this year! He ran up and down the driveways to get candy!
