Crazy Monday

Right now my work schedule has me home with Carson on Mondays and Fridays. Usually Mondays are the day we are trying to recover from the weekend. We often run errands, clean up the house, do some laundry, etc. Today was no different, but a little crazier. This past weekend Jason and I went to Chicago to celebrate our anniversary and the boys went to Grandma and Grandpa Grey's house for the weekend. So we had a few extra things to do this morning. We had to run over the Target and get a few things and I am reminded of the fun of a newly potty trained son. I was in the middle of asking one of employees where to find something and Carson yells out "I have to go potty!!" with a lot of urgency. So I tell her thank you for helping and we run to bathroom. Then after washing his hands twice, Carson is ready to go back to shopping. After that adventure, we went to get Payton from the puppy hotel as the boys call it. Payton was so excited to see us she nearly knocked Carson over in the waiting room. We went out to the car and she usually sits in the far back seat of the van. Well, the seat was down and she seemed a little perturbed. So I put the seat back up for her so she could assume her position for a proper car ride. When I came back up to my seat, she had taken a seat in the passenger seat and proceeded to sit there for the rest of the ride home. She was so calm, it was almost like she wanted to make sure she was good for the ride so we would bring her home. She was only gone 2 days, but I guess she missed us. She is still definitely a puppy but getting much better. She is nearly 11 months old and 61 pounds of fun! She has been napping most of the day. She had a very exciting and social weekend with other dogs and the owners. They even gave her a bath so she smells nice too!

So once we got home, we cleaned up the house a bit and then Carson played a little before nap time. Payton wanted to play too, but Carson wasn't willing to share. So he told me that Payton told him that she wanted to rest in her cage for a little while. I think it is funny how he always seems to change his request to "help" others, not just asking for himself.

So then it was nap time and Carson came down to get a drink. I was getting his drink and I hear the sound of wrapping paper ripping from the front room. I ask Carson what he was doing and he says "I am opening my Buzz and Woody". Not, oh crap I am busted, but clear and honest. So I quickly grabbed the present and explained that it is not Christmas yet and that he needs to wait until Christmas to open any presents. He actually seemed to understand and allowed me to wrap it back up and left it alone under the tree. He has now asked me a million times if it is Christmas yet. Not quite yet dear, but we are getting there! He is so excited for the Holidays this year. I think it is the first year he is understanding all of the excitement with the decorations and lights. He seems to be more into all of our holiday traditions this year too.
This is what Carson did to one of his presents. I managed to patch it back up. It isn't pretty but I figure he already knows what is inside and he really doesn't care if it is neatly wrapped anyway! Jason came home and asked Carson why he open his present even though it wasn't Christmas. His response "I wanted to see what was in it". Doesn't beat around the bush does he?

So here's hoping we make it another 10 days until Carson can open his Buzz and Woody up! (Have I mentioned yet that we are having a Toy Story Christmas? I believe we have nearly everything possible that relates to that movie. More pictures to come once the presents are opened.)

So now I am cooking dinner and trying to get the boys bags and outfits ready for Tuesday. Aidan's class is having a pajama party tomorrow so he is easy! He is so excited to wear pj's to school.
