Decorating the Christmas Tree

Each year we try to decorate the tree the day after Thanksgiving. This year was no exception. After Jason and I had shopped 'til we dropped at the Black Friday sales and took a nap, we were ready to decorate the house for the Holidays. The boys love to help decorate. Jason and I had the tree up and ready for ornaments when the boys returned from Grandma's today. It is always fun to go through all the ornaments. Each one seems to have a story. Since we got married 10 days before Christmas, we received a lot for presents. The boys have also gotten many over the last few years. All of us get a new ornament from Jason's grandma as a tradition at Thanksgiving dinner. After dinner, she hands all of the kids, grandkids and great-grandkids a new ornament that signifies what the person is into that year. Jason usually gets a Bears ornament!

I think Carson's favorite part of the Holidays is getting all of the Holiday animals out to play. He had them all lined up within minutes! Some play songs, some jingle and some just look cute.

Aidan took this picture while Carson and I were taking a break. As you can see, Carson was a bit tired!

This is one of Carson's favorite decorations. The singing and dancing Christmas Homer Simpson. Unfortunately, he ran out of batteries and they just don't sell the right kind in the stores!! :-)

This is one of the ornaments that Aidan has gotten from Great Grandma Gladys. It sings the Grinch song. Both boys love it. (Carson took this picture)

The completed tree. Now I just need to wrap all the presents and get them under the tree! As you may notice, we didn't put any ornaments on the bottom third of the tree. We aren't sure what our new puppy Payton will do. This is her first Christmas!
