Winter snow!

We got our first big snow on December 7th and 8th. In total we got about 12 inches. After the snow passed, our temperatures dropped to zero or below with crazy cold wind chills and blowing snow. Love living the Midwest! Aidan had his first snow day on Wednesday the 8th so he was loving it. When we went outside to play, he said hi to one of his friends in the neigborhood. When he came back, he said "Mom! Zachary has today off too!". So cute!
Here is a picture of our backyard. It kept snowing throughout Wednesday so even though I shoveled the deck for the dog, it was covered very quickly.
More snow!

After I had shoveled the driveway, I realized the temps were going to keep dropping throughout the day. So I dressed the boys in their snow gear and we headed out to play. Nothing else to do on a snow day at 9AM! Luckily, we were able to squeeze the boys into their snow pants from last year. I am little behind on my snow pants shopping! Carson squeezed into her boots from last year too. Lucky for Aidan, we had already purchased new ones for him. He gave me the guilt trip about being the only one that couldn't play on the cool playground stuff at school since he wasn't wearing boots! I give in...let's go shopping!

Ready to go play! Aidan is holding the bucket of snowman accessories.

Aidan jumped right into the snow!

Aidan making a snow angel.

Carson is not so sure! He stayed on the sidewalk where it had been shoveled. You can see how much snow we were getting as I had just shoveled before we went out.

Our snowy street. They finally plowed the roads in the afternoon. Good thing we didn't have any where to go! The minivan wouldn't have made it out of the subdivision! Luckily Jason has a 4-wheel drive SUV and made it to work just fine.

Our neighbor's tree all decorated with snow. This snow was a very heavy snow so the trees were covered with the white stuff. Very pretty to look at....not so pretty to drive in!

Cheap labor! Aidan loves to help shovel!

Carson gathering snow from the sidewalk for his snowman.

Getting a little more brave and getting into the snow bank by the front porch.

Carson's finished product! As you can see the snowman button next to it, it was pretty tiny! But it was very cute. Carson was pretty proud.

Aidan scoping out the perfect spot for his snowman. He is very serious!

Aidan working on his snowman.

The finished product. Aidan did a great job! He had some trouble packing the snow. It kept crumbling on him.

Here is Payton. This was Payton first big snow. She is about 10 months now and getting bigger! She was just weighed and is 61 pounds!

She loves the snow! She was eating it and running all around the back yard having a great time.
